The material is soft, thin, and comfy. I usually get Medium in Adidas crop tops, but since the description says it's a tight fit, I got this one in Large, and I'm glad I did. It fits perfectly. You may opt for your regular size if you want a tight fit. As a reference, I'm 5'6" and 140 lbs with a long torso, and it hits about 3-4 inches above my belly button. CONS: I'm a high neck lover, and I wish the neck would have been narrower. Also, the sleeves look shorter on me compared to the model in the pic
